What follows is how Animalverse decides what goes on the site and what happens when something on it turns out to be wrong.

Independence

No brand, breeder, clinic, shelter or retailer has any interest in this site. No article has been paid for and there are no affiliate links anywhere on it.

Sourcing

Articles are built from the published guidance of feline welfare charities and veterinary organisations, and from the behaviour literature those bodies cite. Each article ends with the organisations behind it, linked to their main pages rather than to deep URLs that these sites tend to move.

What we do not publish

• Advice about a specific cat's health, urination problems or sudden behaviour change. Those are veterinary questions, often medical before they are behavioural.
• Methods based on punishment or on startling the animal.
• Breed generalisations presented as fact.
• Product recommendations or sponsored placements.

Corrections

Send the article title and the correction through the contact page. We aim to reply within three business days. Substantive corrections are made in the article itself, the date at the foot is updated, and the change is stated. We do not remove pages quietly.

Updates

Articles are revisited when the guidance behind them changes or when a reader points out that something no longer holds.

Advertising

None at present, and no affiliate income. If that changes, advertising will be labelled and separated from the articles, and this page will be updated first.

A note on individual cases

We answer general questions by email. When a question describes a specific cat that has changed behaviour suddenly, our answer will be to see a veterinarian first — sudden change is a medical signal until proven otherwise, and no website can rule that out.
